Congratulations to Asst Prof Joseph Cheung for receiving the Inaugural Hojjat Adeli Award for Innovation in Computing!

Asst Prof Joseph Cheung has received the Inaugural Hojjat Adeli Award for Innovation in Computing for his journal paper titled “Calculation of Posterior Probabilities for Bayesian Model Class Assessment and Averaging from Posterior Samples Based on Dynamic System Data” (co-authored by James L. Beck, CalTech). The Hojjat Adeli Award for Innovation in Computing is awarded annually to the author(s) of the most innovative paper published in the Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Journal.

School of CEE Adjunct Professor, Er. Lau Joo Ming (Managing Director, HDB Building Research Institute, Housing & Development Board), has been re-elected as the President of the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) on 19 Jan 2012 for a second three-year term ending 31 Dec 2014.

He will lead a 15-member Board, which took office on 1 Jan 2012. The new board of members also includes Assoc Prof Chiew Sing Ping (Head, Division of Structures and Mechanics), and alumnus Er. Chong Kee Sen (Director, Engineers 9000 Pte Ltd) from the School of CEE. For more details, please refer to the news release from MND.
