Maritime Cluster Fund (MCF) Schemes - Certificable Courses

MPA has been co-funding a portion of the course fees for the Master of Science in Maritime Studies under the maritime-related certifiable courses.

Singapore Citizens and Singapore PRs for the new intake may wish to apply to MPA for the course fee/tuition fee co-funding, subject to qualifying conditions. 

Applicants of who are self-sponsored are allowed to apply for the Maritime Cluster Fund (MCF) provided that they have a letter of support from their maritime-related company.

MSc Maritime Studies students employed in the Marine Engineering sector, i.e. companies (e.g Rolls Royce, PM Control systems, shipyards) are in the business of marine engineering / manufacturing, are under EDB’s purview. MPA is therefore not able to support employees of companies in the Marine Engineering business.

SkillsFuture Study Awards for Sea Transport Sector

Our Master of Science in Maritime Studies has been selected as a qualifying course for the SkillsFuture Study Awards for Maritime Sector launched on 20 October 2015. 

The SkillsFuture Study Awards is an initiative under the national SkillsFuture effort. It is to support and encourage early to mid-career Singaporeans deepen their skills in economic sectors, including the maritime sector. It is a $5,000 monetary award, which Singaporeans can use to defray out-of-pocket expenses associated with the course that you will be taking. It can also be used on top of existing Government course fee subsidies. Recipients do not need to serve a bond. 

Only Singaporean students admitted to the programme this year (that is 2017), employed in the maritime sector are eligible to apply for the current application window. The application closing date will be on 31 Dec 2017. The next application window will then opened till 30 Jun 2018.

Applicants must provide proof of admission into the course and a letter of support from their employer. The application forms can be downloaded from the website, and you may submit the completed application form as stated in the website​
