GER Unrestricted Electives courses


​P​lease note that not all courses are offered in every semester or academic year, please check the Course Offer Table.

A student registers three of the EM91xx courses to fulfill their GER-UE (unrestricted electives) requirements, he or she needs to overload another 6 AUs (or 2 more) of the EM courses to complete the Minor programme. To be awarded the Minor in Environmental Management, students will have to complete 15 AUs. Click here​ for more information on the Minor in Environmental Management.

Students Majoring in Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)

Students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree programme are not allowed to complete the Minor in Environmental Management, but are allowed to take one or more of the following Minor course(s) to fulfill the General Elective requirements of their degree programme: 

  • EM9104 Air Quality Management (GER-UE, mutually exclusive with CV4554/EN4554/EN3004 Air Pollution Control Engineering)
  • EM9105 Energy Resources Management (GER-UE)
  • EM9106 Environmental Impact Assessment (GER-UE)
  • EM9107 Environmental Health and Safety Management (GER-UE)
  • EM9108 Urban Planning and Environment (GER-UE)

Students Majoring in Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental)

Students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) degree programme are not allowed to complete the Minor in Environmental Management, but are allowed to take one or more of the following Minor course(s) to fulfill the General Elective requirements of their degree programme:

  • EM9105 Energy Resources Management (GER-UE)
  • EM9107 Environmental Health and Safety Management (GER-UE)

Students Majoring in Bachelor of Science (Maritime Studies)

Students in the Bachelor of Science (Maritime Studies) degree programme are allowed to offer and complete the Minor in Environmental Management. They can also choose to offer one or more of the Minor courses to fulfill the General Elective requirements of their degree programme.
