The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering's primary functions are to train and educate students to be engineers with a strong sense of professionalism who will use their knowledge to serve society; to advance scholarship and lead in niche areas of civil; environmental engineering and martime studies.

Undergraduate programmes offered by the School:

The School provides a number of practically oriented courses to prepare students for their challenging careers. The courses provide the requisite breadth and depth to ensure that the graduates from this school are able to pursue a career in planning, design, construction, environmental and maritime projects, as well as in marketing or research and development.

Graduate programmes offered by the School:

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers graduate programmes leading to the award of the Graduate Diplomas, the Master of Science degree (by coursework and dissertation), the Master of Engineering and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees (by research) to fulfil the University's role in the training of technological leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow, and in advancing research and development for industry in the region. These graduate courses are offered on part-time or full-time basis.
