His main research areas are: 1) solid waste recycling, recovery, treatment, and management; 2) landfill operation, monitoring, remediation, and mining; and 3) geoenvironmental engineering instruments and processes. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and conference proceedings on journals in multiple disciplines including Geotechnique, Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Waste Management, Environmental International, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Journal of Hazardous Materials.
