Co-Director NTU-JTC I3 Centre
Welcome to the NTU-JTC Industrial Infrastructure Innovation (NTU-JTC I3) Centre.
The Centre exemplifies JTC’s commitment in the sustainability of Singapore’s development and is aligned with NTU’s strategic goal to achieve excellence in sustainability research.
With the objective to promote growth and development of economically viable and sustainable industrial infrastructure solutions in Singapore, the NTU-JTC I3 Centre is set out to expand Singapore’s research and development scope in diverse fields such as land reclamation and specialised marine infrastructure, energy and water recycling, underground infrastructure design and construction, and novel construction methods and systems.
JTC is investing an annual operations budget of S$1 million over five years for the funding of pilot research, development and demonstration projects. The NTU-JTC I3 Centre will be focusing its R&D efforts in areas of established research thrusts that mirror Singapore’s needs for sustainable development and the imperative to keep Singapore as a viable choice investment location for businesses.
The Centre’s research thrusts are in four areas, namely reclamation & marine infrastructure, sustainable infrastructure, underground infrastructure, and infrastructure systems & materials. It also aims to build new capabilities and to scale up technical leadership competencies in the area of industrial infrastructure development.
The NTU-JTC I3 Centre welcomes fresh innovative ideas in any of the key research thrusts, and I would like to strongly encourage you to join us in the quest for innovative urban solutions and work towards a sustainable industrial landscape in Singapore.
